Frequently asked questions
Which blood pressure monitors work with BP Diary?+
Any home monitor. BP Diary doesn't connect to the monitor: you type in the numbers it shows (systolic, diastolic and, if you like, your pulse). The measuring guide recommends an automatic monitor with an upper-arm cuff.
I didn't get my verification code.+
- Check your spam or junk folder for an email from BP Diary.
- Make sure the email address is spelled correctly. If not, tap Wrong email? Start over.
- When the countdown ends, tap Resend code for a new one.
I forgot my password.+
On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password? and enter your email address. We'll email you a code to set a new password. For your security, resetting signs you out on every device.
How do I take an accurate reading?+
Use the measuring guide: open the Info tab and tap Start the guide. It walks you through preparing, resting for 5 minutes, fitting the cuff and taking two readings a minute apart, then saves both and shows the average.
How do I edit or delete a reading?+
In Measurements, tap a reading to edit it, or swipe it to the left to delete it. You can undo a delete straight away from the message at the bottom of the screen.
Does BP Diary tell me if my blood pressure is too high?+
No. BP Diary is a diary: it records your readings and shows averages and trends, but it doesn't label, diagnose or judge them. Talk to your doctor or another healthcare professional about what your numbers mean. The Info tab also explains when to get urgent help.
How do I share my readings with my doctor?+
In Measurements, tap the export icon in the top right. Choose the dates, a PDF report or a CSV spreadsheet, and who to send it to. The file is made on your phone and sent from your own email app or share sheet.
I got a new phone. Where are my readings?+
Your readings are stored only on the phone you recorded them on. They aren't backed up to our servers, so signing in on a new phone starts an empty diary. Before you switch, export a CSV from Measurements to keep a copy of your history.
Do I need an internet connection?+
Only to create an account, sign in or reset your password. Once you're signed in, logging and viewing readings works offline.
